Mary Ann Palmer was born June 26, 1810, in Albany County, NY, a daughter of Moses Palmer and Sarah Cornell.

Marriage & Children

About 1843, Mary married Abram Tallman, a son of Jeremiah Tallman and Catharine Akin. Mary and Abram moved to nearby Middleburgh about 1840. By 1860, Abram and Mary Ann had moved to nearby Broome, also in Schoharie County where Abram was working on a farm for a man named Rufus Rider. In their household that year is Emily Tallman who is believed to be their daughter and was under 5 years old at the time. Abram and Mary Ann did not live in Broome long, and moved back to Huntersland by 1865 where Emily was no longer in his household. It is probable she had died at a young age.

Mary died on April 5, 1890, at 79 years of age and was buried in Huntersland Christian Cemetery.
