RESEARCHING YOUR HILLTOWN ANCESTORS

Every Hilltown family has a story. The Helderberg Hilltowns Association invites you to participate in a workshop ‘Researching Your Hilltown Ancestors’ on Saturday, September 25, 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Octagon Barn in Knox. The Helderberg Hilltowns Association is sponsoring this event to help community members connect with their family roots.

Local specialists will demonstrate researching family histories with tips for collecting and organizing information. They will also provide information about local sources including historical societies, museums, libraries, and websites. These resources will be detailed in an extensive handout.

The workshop is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, so please register by contacting John Elberfeld at (518) 872-2082 or John Elberfeld. Join us before the workshop for a light breakfast featuring local ingredients. The Octagon Barn is located at 588 Middle Road (County Route 262) in Knox, just west of the intersection of Middle and Beebe Roads.

The Helderberg Hilltowns Association is a consortium of community members working together to preserve and promote agriculture, recreation, culture, and history in Berne, Knox, Rensselaerville, and Westerlo. For more information, contact Zenie Gladieux, cell (518) 894-8589, Zenie Gladieux.
