John Flagler a son of Petrus Flagler & Maria Ostrom was christened at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, NY on September 23, 1770.

He came from Dutchess County to Albany County and settled in Westerlo on a farm at about 1800 [1]

He married Geertje (Charity) Bogart on February 2, 1797 at the Presbyterian Church, Pleasant Valley, Dutchess Co., NY
