Sally Crary died April 11, 1901 in Wheaton, Illinois
Miss Sally A. Crary was born October 8, 1821, in Knox, Albany county, N. Y. Her parents came from Connecticut. Early in her life she became a Christian. She never married and yet took the place of a mother in two homes. When she was 18 her mother died and she assumed tbe care of tbe household. In 1869, 30 years afterward, when the mother of Mrs. Daube died she took up the new care, so that for more than 60 years she has been living for others. In the early '80s she made a permanent home in Chicago, united with the Humbold Park church, in whose work she was deeply interested and helped according to her ability. For the most part the last four years has been spent in Wheaton, with Mrs. Daube. She was attacked at Christmas time with the grippe from which she slowly recovered her persistent vitality asserting itself. Recently she had a fall from which she never seemed fully to recover.
Ou Wednesday night she had a severe attack, falling into unconsciousness from which she never rallied, falling asleep at 6:30 on Thursday night, April 11, aged 79 years, 6 mouths and 8 days. A long aud valuable life. In knowing her, one would be impressed by her as a thoughtful, conscientious Christian lady. The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Daube on tbe Sabbath day, conducted by Pastor Wycoff. The interment was in Forest Home cemetery, near Oak Park — The Wheaton Illinoian, April 19th.
