Transcript of the 1840 deed to south half of Lot 467 on Bradt Hill Road:

"THIS INDENTURE made the eighth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty, BETWEEN Daniel Denison, in the County of Albany and State of New York, and Eliza Denison his wife, of the first part, and Philip Becker late of Hanback in what is called French Germany & son of Matilda Becker of that place, and now of the Town of Berne in the County of Albany and the State aforesaid of the second part. WITNESSETH that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand nine hundred dollars of good and lawful money of the United States of America to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged Hath granted aliened, remised, released, enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents. Doth grant, alien, remise, release, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever, ALL THAT certain farm, piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the Town of Berne, in the County of Albany and the State of New York, and within the Manor of Rensselaerwyck and known and distinguished as the south half of a certain lot known as lot number four hundred and sixty seven and is subject to the payment of its proportionate part of certain annual rents, and to certain covenants and conditions made and reserved by the late Stephen Van Rensselaer Esquire, in his original lease of the said whole Lot No. 467 of which the premises hereby intended to be conveyed is the said south half and bounded as follows: to wit: North wardly by the north half of said lot No. 467 owned by Isaac Norton, Southwardly by the farm owned by the widow and heirs of Peter Turner deceased, eastwardly by the original east line of said whole lot No. 467, running along the highway and westwardly by the farm of Thomas Sissons and containing about eighty acres of land as the same was formerly possessed by Absalom Ryder deceased, in his life time, and at the time of his death be the same more or less, Subject here the less to an incumbrance of by way of a mortgage executed by the said Daniel Denison to Uriah Ryder, Eleazer Ryder and Thomas Sisson, executors of the estate of Absalom Ryder late of Bern in the County of Albany and the State aforesaid, deceased, for the sum of one thousand dollars payable by installments with interest, which the said Philip Becker has undertaken to pay and satisfy of the said consideration in this purchase, and the sum as between him and the said Daniel Denison has been considered as paid towards the said Nineteen hundred dollars as aforesaid.

TOGETHER with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances therunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof, and all the estate, right, title, interest, claim and demand whatsoever of the said party of the first part, either in law or equity of, in and to take above granted premises, with the said herditaments and appurtences, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above mentioned and described premises with appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof, to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Daniel Denison (he the said Philip Becker his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns paying and satisfying the said mortgage aforesaid, performing the covenants and conditions aforesaid & pay and discharge the rents aforesaid as they shall hereafter become due) for himself his heirs executors and administrators Doth covenant, grant, bargain, promise and agree to and with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, to warrant and forever to defend, the above granted premises, and every part and parcel thereof, now being in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part, against the said party of the first part his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, against all and every other person or persons claiming or to claim the said premises or any part thereof. IN WITNESS WHEREOF the said party of the first part hath hereto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.

ALBANY County as: On this 9th day of April 1840 before the subscriber, a commissioner of Deeds in and for said County, personally appeared Daniel Denison and Eliza Denison his wife, said Daniel Denison known to me and said Eliza Denison proved to me by satisfactory testimony of Joseph Owen Jr. in said County, on his oath to me well known to be the same person described in and who executed the within indenture and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed. And the said Eliza on a private examination separate and apart from her husband, acknowledged that she executed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband.

Transcript of the content of the 1861 deed to land on Bradt Hill Road

"THIS INDENTURE_made the fourth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty one, BETWEEN Philip Becker 2nd and Judith Becker his wife, of Bern in the County of Albany and State of New York, of the first part and Peter Becker, Sophia Messer wife of Adam Messer, Lupert Becker, Christina Murtice wife of Peter Murtice George Becker being the children of the said Philip Becker 2nd of the second part. Witnesseth, That the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of two thousand dollars lawful money of the United States of America to them in hand paid by the said parties of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged here granted aliened, remised, released, enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents. Do grant, alien, remise, release, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said parties of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever. All that farm if land situate in the Town of Berne and Bounded on the north by lands of William Smith, on the west by lands of George Norton and Rufus Seisen on the south by the lands of the heirs of Adam Clyne deceased, and on the East by the public highway and being that farm on which the said Philip Becker 2nd now resides containing eighty acres of land be the same more or less. The said Philip Becker 2nd reserving to himself, the possession and use of the said premises for and during his natural life and after his decease and not sooner the said parties of the second part are to have the possession of the said premises. Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances therunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and revisions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof, and all the estate, right, title, interest, claim and demand whatsoever of the said parties of the first part, either in law or in equity of in and to the above granted premises with the said herditaments and appurtenves. To Have and To hold the above mentioned and described premises with appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof to the said parties of the second part their heirs and assigns forever. And the said Philip Becker 2nd for himself, his heirs, executors, administrators does covenant, grant, bargain, promise and agree to and with the said parties of the second part, their heirs and assigns to Warrant and forever to defend the above granted premises and every part and parcel thereof now being in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said parties of the second part, against the said parties of the first part, their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns and against all and every other person or persons claiming or to claim the said premises or any part thereof. In Witness Whereof, the said parties of the first part hath hereto set their hands and seal the day and year first above written.

On this 4th day of August 1861 before me, the subscriber personally appeared Philip Becker 2nd and Judith Becker his wife and acknowledged that they had severally executed the within Instrument and the said Judith Becker on a private examination apart from her husband, acknowledged that she executed the within instrument freely and without any fear or compulsion of her husband and I freely certify that I know the persons who made the said acknowledgment to be the individuals described in and who executed the within instrument.
